Our story
Fewer jackets, made properly.
We started The Legacy Jackets because a good leather jacket had become either cheap and stiff, or beautiful and out of reach. We cut out the wholesale layers, kept the craft, and began making each jacket to order.
One maker per jacket
The same person cuts, stitches and finishes your jacket, and signs the label inside.
Hides we can trace
We buy from a short list of tanneries and keep a record of every hide batch we use.
Made to be repaired
Zips, stitching and linings are repaired free for life. A jacket should outlast its trend.
Our bespoke process
From your tape measure to our cutting table
Every made-to-measure order passes through five hands-on stages before it leaves the workshop.
Pattern drafting
Your measurements adjust each paper pattern panel by panel.
Hide selection and cutting
Panels are matched for grain and colour from a single hide where possible.
Stitching
8 to 10 stitches per inch with bonded nylon thread.
Hardware and lining
YKK zips, branded snaps and a cupro or quilted lining.
Quality check
Measured against your order before it is wrapped and shipped.
